Network Marketing
Hopefully, this article want scare people to death, but there are a few things that I have been noticing lately.
In the past few years automated systems have been the rage in Network Marketing. We have seen some of the great network marketers like Jay Kubassek, Mike Dillard and Ty Coughlin build there entire e-mail list from an automated turn key system without lifting a finger or making a phone call.
These systems like Magnetic Sponsoring appealed to the masses (including me) because of the “Turn Key” approached they were based on:
- No phone calls
- No living room meetings
- No selling
- We do the selling for you
- e-mail on autopilot
- No closing
- Pre-made landing pages that convert
Don’t mistake what I am saying here. Magnetic Sponsoring completely changed and transformed my thinking and enabled me to kick start my business after months of failure. I was tired of coaching and trying to talk people into starting a business that had no business , being in business for themselves. I needed a way to qualify people and weed out the dead weight. Magnetic Sponsoring taught me attraction marketing and enabled me to transform my business.
What I started to notice is on several of the live training calls and webinars that I was attending experts were being brought in to have training on….
Phone Skills !
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! I thought this system was fully automated. No phone skills required. Hell, if I wanted to train on phone selling and prospecting I would just pick up one of my own automotive sales training manuals that I have been teaching for years and read.
All of the sudden the light came on…..
The Ultimate Game Changing Advantage
The bad news is that if you are expecting to build your business from a laptop you’re screwed.
The good news is that if you are willing to pick up the phone and interact with people you have the ultimate advantage in today’s over hyped “Turn Key System” market.
The bottom line is people want to talk to people. If someone is going to join a top tier company with a $2000 entry point, or buy a $1000 top shelf training product, they want some assurance that there is an individual behind the company and someone there to help them. People are looking for leaders not companies to join.
WEB 2.0
This is why social media and Web 2.0 is such a growing industry. By positioning yourself properly in all of the social media forums such as Twitter and Face book chatting and interacting with people you will have a much greater chance of selling them one of your products or joining your company.
“Tradition 2.0 Best Practices”.
- Put your phone number on all emails, landing pages and capture pages
- Use a real email address in your auto responders messages
- Use personal emails with your prospects everyday not automated messages(they can tell the difference)
- Here’s the Big One….Have prospects put there phone number on the opt-in form and call all of your prospects
- Interact with people on Face-book by chatting ..this gets some dialog started
The best thing about a “Funded Proposal” like Magnetic Sponsoring is that all of your calls will be primarily consulting in nature. You are not pitching your business, just helping with the information they ask for. However it is inevitable that you will get ask all of these questions:
How much money are you making?
What company are you with?
How do you market?
Your answers to these questions will be the difference in your business failing or succeeding. That’s why investing in personal development courses such as Black Belt Recruiting will have a huge impact on the success of your business.
The Payoff
As you start to develop your phone skills and prospecting skills you will begin to notice that you are attracting leaders to your business. All forms of communication such as email, blogging, chat rooms will begin to become more natural to you and your confidence and magnetic personality will start to translate into more customers being magnetically attracted to you.
Here’s the Kicker…
When you develop these skills the big advantage over another competitor that has the same product will be YOU Inc.
The prospect already knows what the system will do for them. They want to know what YOU can do for them – that’s the difference maker.
See you soon,

Richard,
Thanks for your kind comments and I hope you have a great Holiday. You know may is also the month for Labor Day in America also. So we have that in common along with the thanks that we all should give to the older generations before us in our respective countries. My older son served as a Army Ranger and I know what it is like to have some one in your family serve their country.
No matter our differences in the past or current day this citizens that served should be recognized for their duty and honor.
Have a great Holiday,

Hi Craig,
For some reason I found this very funny that somebody had to learn that personal communication beats websites, blogs or emails. Of course, personal is better, people like to know that they are cared for and about.
All the best,
Alan

Hi Alan,
Good to see you here. It’s is a bit funny, but most people think that this “magical” thing we call Internet Marketing will create wealth without them having to talk to anyone. I have taught Internet sales people in the automotive business for years that the Internet is a way to capture the attention of your buyer, and then allowing you to start a relationship with that person to see if what you have to offer fits their needs. But most of them continue to try and close the deal without picking up the phone.
It just doesn’t work!
I sometime think that this whole Internet thing has created a bigger problem, especially with the younger generation, and people are losing the art of conversation.
Thanks for posting Alan, and come back more often. You always have great comments and insight.
Craig
