Changing your mental mindset is one of the most difficult things to do but it must be the first thing you accomplish in order to become a true entrepreneur. Most people have the ability deep inside them to excel but never find the strength or vision to release the true potential within them. There are several things a person must do in order to change their mental mindset and achieve the things that you have only dreamed about.
The first thing you must do is get rid of the “Dream Crushers”. First thing in the morning you turn on that horrible thing called the TV and watch the the Doom and Gloom channel. The reports all full of negative stories about what took place over night and how many deaths there were. If there is any good news it is at the end of the broadcast and you probable have already left by then. People can also be Dream Crushers. These are the people always bringing you down. Telling you your idea stinks or there is now way that you will be able to do this or that. These people are usually the most miserable people you know. So quit hanging around them!
The second task you must complete is to find positive and motivational influences. The best place to start is to make a list of people you look up to in life. These people usually have affected you in a positive way during your life. Find out what characteristic traits that they have that attracted you to them. Write these traits down and start doing research on these subjects. Slowly you will start to develop these skills if you start to think about them every day. Remember, you become what you think about.
Thirdly, figure out what you want out of life. If you have no idea of what your goals are then you will be floating aimlessly into another dead end road asking yourself why you did not succeed. Setting goals must be done in short intervals. Anything further out than 90 days and you will fall short. What would you like to achieve? Finish a project around the house? Buy a new car? Take your spouse on a romantic weekend? These are all goals that can be obtained in a short period of time. Get familiar with your goals. Write them down in the order you would like to accomplish them and remind yourself everyday. This way you will become attached to the idea.
Find social proof that your goals can be obtained. We have been programmed by society that our goals are unattainable. The proof is everywhere on the internet today. The more proof you find the quicker you can begin to re-program your brain to think this way on a daily basis. Find 2 people that you can research on the internet that have achieved your desires. Do this twice a week and find out what they did to develop their mental mindset.
Visualize your goals every day. Have you ever heard about the training that professional golfers go through to train there mind how to visualize the shot they are about to hit. It’s all about repetition. Every time a golfer approaches a shot he does it exactly the same way every time. Ever wonder why golfers stand behind the ball for so long? They are visualizing the shot in there head before they make it. This is how they train there minds to be confident with the shot they are attempting to hit. If you visualize your goals everyday for 30 minutes you will train your mind and become emotionally involved in your goals.
This short set of items should give a list of goals to attain every day. Print this out and take it with you every day. Soon it will become habit.
