The Top 20 Home Based Business Resources

by Craig White on March 10, 2010

When I first started in my Home Based Business I was overwhelmed by my lack of knowledge on how to market on the Internet. There were literally hundreds of different techniques and skills that I needed to develop. Where was I going to learn these marketing techniques to get my home based business started. There are thousands of sites on the web on all of the subjects that I needed to study but I wasn’t sure exactly which site was going to give me the best information.

So with that in mind, I decided to create this list of what I think are the top sites for each topic. Check out each site and I hope this helps you get a head start on building your home based business.

Blog Platforms

If your going to market your home based business on the Internet you must have a central location or hub for your customers to go to. Creating a blog is free and a great place to send your potential customers.
Here are my top choices:
The Top 20 Home Based Business Resources

WordPress

WordPress is versatile and highly customizable, though the interface’s text-based buttons might confuse inexperienced users. I use WordPress for my blog.
This full-featured blog platform offers quick setup, easy customization of templates, and a simple-to-use interface.
Service for hosting and publishing weblogs and photo albums.

Lycos Tripod

Though Tripod offers plenty of customizable templates and the ability to generate nice-looking photo galleries, its pages load much too slowly.

Squarespace provides highly configurable blog pages, but you’ll have to figure out the program’s unintuitive drag-and-drop module system.

Video streaming

Video is one the quickest and easiest ways to create huge amounts of traffic for you home based business. You could become an Internet Guru with just one great video!

The Top 20 Home Based Business Resources

The most popular video streaming website, YouTube has thousands of videos on nearly every topic imaginable, all user submitted and free to watch. The videos are currently offered in wide screen format, though most videos upload retain the original 4:3 aspect ratio. In addition to wide screen, videos can now be uploaded and viewed in high quality.

Vimeo

Vimeo is a sophisticated, free video sharing website. Basic users are allowed to upload up to 500MB of video content per week, or pay for an account to upload more. Vimeo attracts a wide array of video artists, and is often used to upload short movies, skits, and portfolios. The website supports full HD streaming and wide screen format, as well as a wide array of video codec support, making it the ideal location to watch and share high-quality and HD personal videos.

Metacafe rocketed to popularity with their page view money earning system. Many videos on the website are duplicates from YouTube, but in addition to that content, there is a wide array of video tutorials on many subjects, including DIY hacks, magic, and science experiments. If you’re interested in making money off your video’s page views, Metacafe is the ideal website to use.

The first website to legally offer a wide array of free TV shows, Hulu was founded by NBC and offers dozens of free TV series, both current and off-air broadcasts. Some of the TV shows offered includes: The Simpson’s, Family Guy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Office.

In addition to offering TV shows, Hulu also has a catalog of movies available to watch, including such popular shows as: Spy Game, Liar Liar, Ghostbusters, Men in Black, and The Karate Kid.

Veoh is a video content website, but has made a name for itself by partnering with different companies to offer TV shows for free. Offering TV shows not available from Hulu, you can watch popular shows such as: The Big Bang Theory, Friends, According to Jim, CSI, and Everwood.

For many years I have tried to create income on the internet, but have failed for numerous reasons, not all my inadequacies. Some of the failure are just bad programs where a slick guru is just padding his of her pockets, and many of you may have experienced the same type of venture.

I believe that most people would like to have income that is out of control and this is the potential that we deal with while dealing with an income established on the worldwide web, or the internet.

The potential is simply endless, and without limitations. When you are fortunate enough to find the right vehicle for creating income, the potential is limitless. That is exactly what we have found here with the

There system is so easy to implement and follow. Thanks for everything that you do Craig and Kim and keep up the good work.
